Job description

We are hiring a Technical Artist for our client, a cutting-edge game studio in Mumbai, India, developing a globally recognized AA-quality first-person shooter with intense gunplay mechanics and hybrid gameplay abilities. As a key member of the team, you will bridge the gap between art and technology, collaborating with artists, designers, and engineers to optimize assets, develop efficient workflows, and enhance the technical art pipeline. Responsibility

  • Collaborate with artists and developers to create and maintain efficient technical art pipelines for game assets.
  • Act as a bridge between the art and engineering teams, ensuring smooth workflows and seamless asset integration.
  • Optimize 3D models, textures, and shaders to maintain high-quality visuals while ensuring performance efficiency.
  • Utilize Unreal Engine 5, including Blueprints, Materials, and Level Streaming, to enhance game visuals and interactions.
  • Develop and maintain technical art tools and scripts to improve efficiency and streamline asset workflows.
  • Ensure asset compatibility within Unreal Engine, defining best practices and technical art guidelines.
  • Debug and resolve technical art challenges related to rendering, performance, and asset optimization.
  • Research and implement new technical artist solutions to enhance visual fidelity and real-time rendering techniques.

Requirement

  • Strong understanding of the graphics rendering pipeline for next-gen game technologies.
  • Proficiency in 3D software such as Maya, Houdini, or 3DS Max.
  • Expertise in real-time rendering and game engine technologies, particularly Unreal Engine.
  • Strong knowledge of technical artist workflows for optimizing game assets across platforms.
  • Experience with Physically Based Rendering (PBR) workflows and shader development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Perforce).
  • Knowledge of particle systems and visual effects (VFX) creation.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Maya/Python is a plus.
